Re: Obscenities - how far have you push the limit?

So successfulhost... you have a problem with advertisers not wanting to be associated with some stuff? Seems like free speech should go for everybody. And regarding shows that are "REMOTELY controversial or edgy"; I believe Rush and Savage still have shows. For example. Arguing with your advertiser...

Re: New Maroon 5 single

You know your market better than any of us, but here's something to consider. If you don't play it, people will listen to it anyway. I have no idea if it's going to be a hit, but if it is do you want to be the one that isn't playing it?

Those are things I'd consider if I were in your shoes.

Re: My Rant About News Coverage

Does your station only take the first 3 minutes of the Fox News update? I think it was in the the final two minutes for the morning news.

Does anyone screen these ads?

Right now there is an ad that lists non existent call letters, offers an unrealistic salary/benefits for what's obviously a podcast, and is openly discriminatory ("attractive women only"). The tiniest bit of research reveals that this guy is some creep that lives in a trailer in the middle of nowher...

Re: Do we REALLY not know what's wrong?

Too bad the consultant types are all in with the "social media must be more important than your radio show" bit.

Re: Radio=Hobby

This again?

The radio jobs paying that little are beginner jobs. Like any other beginner job, they pay poorly. Sorry if no one will pay you six figures to talk 2 minutes an hour anymore, but that's just the way things are.

Re: Artist Photos in FB Ads

You should be safe using the photos from the artist's website. Do not use photos from anywhere else (gossip websites, etc.) as they are protected by copyright.

If you want to be extra safe, I'm sure contacting the media people for the artist would net you official press photos.

Re: Twitter Spam Requests

You could block all of them. That's about it.

Twitter is a mess. I know a lot of consultant types would have a heart attack at this, but I don't think it's all that important.
