Re: Banned from AllAccess Facebook page

Lauren, you should be fine as long as you confine your posts to new cabinets, childish online fantasy games and advertising your own business here on a site meant for radio broadcasters to discuss the industry. (such as it is these days)

Glad I could help.

Re: is there a radio station that should have it's own TV sh

C'mon, Harlan...isn't there enough tragedy on TV? Funny, though, when I worked in Southern California for an AOR in the 80's there was a newsman that would send actualities to the LA stations from the inland empire. It was rumored that one of the stations he sent audio to was the home of the technic...

Re: People who approach Radio with Passion VS those who don'

While I'm pretty sure everyone realizes I speak in generalities when referring to the industry and its ills, I should probably point out that I'm sure there are stations out there doing truly great radio. I don't think I'm going out on much of a limb to guess they aren't part of a giant corporate ow...

Re: People who approach Radio with Passion VS those who don'

Danno, people with passion are not welcome in what passes for radio today. People with passion have "ideas". They want to try "new things". Ownership today. for the most part, is threatened by ideas not their own. Those who fly below the radio radar, however mediocre, will always stay around because...

Re: Writing Commercials

Max, the universe to which you refer is populated by "dinosaurs". You know, those of us that were there when radio was run by BROADCASTERS as opposed to this current crop of real estate investors with their faces glued to their smartphones. Real radio personalities never missed an opportunity to rei...

Re: Radio Quacks

Geez gbarn...Ducks fan, huh? I found myself in Tuscaloosa not too long ago and asked this guy sitting next to me at the counter (at a Waffle House, of course) "Hey! How come no one cares about college football around here?" Yup. Just like the movies. EVERYBODY in the place stopped and turned to look...

WHO ARE YOU!? AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH OUR BELOVED WHIPPING BOY(?)!?

Actually, JJ, (ready?) I wholeheartedly agree with the entirety of your last post.

OK...now you can go back to telling me how much you don't care about me agreeing with you.

Nice to see you...

Re: How the mighty "Hall Talk" has fallen.

A couple of months ago I gave up my show to take care of a few family issues and relocate. It was only a one hour weekend show, which is how I wanted it. after 35 years I got to talk about what I wanted to talk about, play what I wanted to play, and pursue whatever sponsors I wanted and bill them or...

Would there be any ammo left by the time we finished with BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE in Congress?
