Re: Should I bother, or should I get into like.. food servic

Here are a couple of bits I put together in about an hour a few months ago just playing around with some loose ideas I had floating around in my head.

All voices are me.. including the 'woman' calling in.

Re: Should I bother, or should I get into like.. food servic

Hey, food service works. You get a free hat, and get to work behind the mike. Just keep practicing: "You want fries with that?... You want fries with that?...You want fries with that?... You want fries with that?...You want fries with that?... You want fries with that?..." I actually got kicked out...

Should I bother, or should I get into like.. food service?

0 radio experience, been a mobile DJ for years.

I'd like to get a gig making minimum wage and reading the farm report on some podunk station, but I don't know if I got the chops.

Give 'em a listen and rip away.

Well I should definitely take comedy lessons from you, bro. I mean with that incredibly unique bit of satire about a 40 year old living in his mom's basement playing Dungeons and Dragons. Well done. So an old racist guy calling a business hasn't been done at least three times on Crank Yankers? You ...

Re: If your morning show is going 2 do a prank call, do it r

Well that sucked. I suppose if your target audience is 40 year old guys who spent their prepubescent years jerkin' it to D&D in their grandmas basement (and probably still live there), then well played sir.. well played. What's your mom's phone number? Lemme prank call her and tape it and show you h...

Re: "Seasoned Talent" w/ side of cole slaw..

Well.. presumably, the reason some stations look for persons familiar with 'the lifestyle' of their target audience is in the hopes you'll be able to relate to the listener. That way when 'T-Bag' calls in to ask for Lil Keke's "Big Rims" because he just scored a set of 22" spinners off CraigsList, y...

Re: Future of Radio

If radio has any future, it's in the human element.. having a personality behind the mic that interacts with the listener. Spinning top 40 tunes non stop with a few commercials slid in isn't going to keep people listening to traditional radio with all the alternatives.. iPods, XM, streaming internet...

Re: Producer Kevin, I have a job for you

It all seems silly, really. What's the difference between this guy trying to get a free internet station off the ground, or the big corporate station trying to find a guy with 5 years experience to work triple duty (promotions/on air/lawn care) for $10 an hour? Well.. besides getting a tan and green...

"Seasoned Talent" w/ side of cole slaw..

I browse through the jobs postings a few times a week, and see the same kinds of ads over and over.. people looking for 'seasoned talent' and someone with a 'track record'.. because lord knows what works in Davenport is going to be a grand slam in Atlanta. Meanwhile terrestrial radio languishes in m...
