Turkey Day

Remember the good ole days, when every other station was doing stuff like 'Bowling With Turkeys," around Thanksgiving? Does anyone still do that kind of thing? I am just wondering what everyone is doing for this holiday that seems to get swept up by Christmas, which seems to take over right after Ha...

Re: CMA Predictions, anyone?

Well the Awards have been given out and I'd love to know what everyone thought about the show--what did you think the surprises were, etc.

I thought that all in all, it was a really great presentation and it was great to see Miranda have such a big night

Thanks!

Re: GARTH

How great it is that GARTH can sell over 140,000 tickets and at $25 each!

The people of Nashville win all the way around on this...seeing a legend for $25, and all of the money for the flood victims.

It's just great in every way.

Thank you Garth!

Happy Election Day

Well this is the day that we have as Americans to either re-hire or fire our Congress and Senate. It's too bad that over $3 billion was spent in mainly attack ads, making every listener sick of listening. But that's what it has become. On the other hand I was wondering how stations were handling Ele...

Re: GARTH

Garth still has the power--how many acts of any genre, can throw a press conference and attract both senators, the governor and everyone else who is anyone. I am so pleased that Garth is doing this concert(s) now for flood relief, because now is when Nashville needs it the most. The spotlights of na...

Weather

So, I am just sitting here watching the hail, winds, torrential rain and of course tornado warnings in Nashville, TN., and it got me wondering about local radio. I notice more and more people going to TV sets rather than radio, and I wonder how radio can take that ownership back. Or, maybe at your s...

Scott Lindy

Congratulations to our friend Scott Lindy, who will be taking the PD post at Top 40 WSTR/Atlanta. Scott was a big part of the Country community for many years. As well as doing such a great job as a programmer, he was also on the board of the CRB and many other areas of the Country format. I hope th...

Re: Opry

I second what Karen said, although I was not there this past week. The Opry is one of our treasures, so thankfully it's back and looking great!

Now if they can just get that mall open before Christmas!

County Music Month

We just wrote a story that the first performers for this year's CMA Awards were announced on People.com, and that got me wondering about the Awards Show and Country Music Month.

What are stations doing this year for the occasion?

I'd love to hear what promotions you have going on

Thanks!
