Baseball Playoff Coverage
I'd be curious to see if anyone has any thoughts on the play-by-play for the baseball post-season. It seems unanimous that everyone absolutely hated TBS' coverage, especially the Chip Caray-Ron Darling-Buck Martinez crew, and Fox has the usual Buck-McCarver detractors. So... do you still turn the sound down and listen to the radio play-by-play? With digital, it doesn't really sync up, but I was tempted. MLB.com had a video of all three calls of the Rollins game-winning double in NLCS game 4, and the TV call (Caray) was the worst by far. Scott Franzke on WPHT went understandably nuts, Vin Scully did his let-the-crowd-noise-tell-the-story thing, and Caray called a mythical play at the plate when there wasn't one. The radio calls were MUCH better.
On the other hand, I'm not much for the Yankees or Angels radio crews. Are you a radio partisan for play-by-play?
