Organized Callers

Post by pmsimon » Fri Feb 26, 2010 4:13 pm

Wrote "The Letter" this week on the DNC's organized caller campaign to get people to call in and push the health care plan on talk shows. I'd be interested in how hosts handle that -- do you try to keep those calls off or would you rather let them through and joust with them?

Personally, I'd keep them off. Talking points get boring...

Perry..back in 1999 when I was at WWDB I was a speaker at the DNC conference and they did a whole forum on how to get their message points on talk radio. I simply stated, don't lie to the screener.

To the list of usual topics (guns, abortion) I would now add immigration as a talk topic of which one should be reeeeeeeeeeeeeally leery; if you're one of those hosts who puts on FAIR to regurgitate their talking points every week or so, then you are part of the problem... 8-)
