And while it sounds impressive, we should remember that the Newsboys ran this pre-sale campaign while on tour this spring. They collect all those sales and report them to the first week of SoundScan.
Would they have had all those first week sales without the bargain deal they ran earlier?
I know tons of people run pre-sale orders. And it's a great idea. And perhaps necessary this day and age of the music business. But touting as first week sales seems less than forthright.

I agree. If you include the info about the pre-sales in your PR, fine. But to skip over it, tricky.
